Reciting Quran is one spiritual practice that women have excelled at and have been celebrated world-wide. It is important for both boys and girls to see and hear these voices, so that the practice of reciting inspires every Muslim, regardless of gender. Women are too under-represented in spiritual leadership. If someone doesn’t want to hear women reciters, they should be able to toggle off that option, but the rest of the Muslim world should not be deprived of hearing how women also beautify the Quran. This is one area where they can be celebrated and can inspire more women to study tajweed.
