Please Bring Back Previous.Quran.com
Albin Sejdiu
Hello Quran.com Team,
I would like to kindly request that you consider bringing back the previous.quran.com version, or at least making it available as an option.
One of the main reasons is the "King Fahad Complex v1" font. The previous version was much more suitable and practical for copying Quranic verses. Many users relied on it because the text could be copied accurately and conveniently for educational and publishing purposes.
With the current version, copying verses using the same font and format has become difficult and, in many cases, impossible. This has made the user experience significantly less convenient compared to previous.quran.com.
Please consider restoring the previous version or bringing back support for the "King Fahad Complex v1" font and its copy functionality.
Thank you for your time and for all the work you do to serve the Quran and its readers.
Best regards.

Previous version of Quran com was better
zayifakimkolu
Previous version of Quran.com was better. If it is possible bring it back. We were using the older version in our daily life. The new version is not useful enough. There are some problems relating to playing verses. If I remember correctly there are some issues about Turkish and Azerbaijani fonts in the new version. I developed a software which uses the old version. I am also sad that all my labor was wasted.

Selamun Aleykum.
The application, developed for use with the previous Quran software, is quite simple.
To use the application, just type "oku".
Which means "read" in English or "ikra" in Arabic.
It will start reading from the first verse of Surah Al-Fatiha.
It doesn't only reads the verses but also keeps track of them.
For example, you can open verse 27 of Surah Al-Hajj as follows:
oku 22:27
If you prefer, you can open the verse using the name of the surah:
oku hac:27
It is possible to change the number of verses that will be read with the following command:
oku 3
To skip to a different surah, put a dot at the end:
oku 22:27.
So if the user writes "oku" again, it will continue reading from verse 27 of Surah Al-Hajj.

Previous.Quran.Com is an UI/UX marvel. Please don't hurt us if it doesn't cost you.

You're already hosting various other instances. If "Previous.Quran.Com" doesn't cost you extra large amount of money, I'd kindly request you to keep hosting this version. For us those who currently use, and for those who may NEED it's helpful usage features in future. It's not just any other design, it fullfills the golden standards of an UI/UX's Fundamentals Of USABILITY. Compared to the fancyness of current design, which's only good as a decoration. It's not pleasing by any means in the consumption of Al-Quran. In other words, it's hurtful and unpleasing with current UI. You may rise a statistical question. But you have to remember, majority people do use current UI, because that's the forced default one, and they do not know (or seek) the (better) alternative. If you condunct an experiment, or consult with an expert, ON usability, you'll observe Previous UI will come to be the definite winnner. I don't hate the current “modern” (of archaic usage standard) design. Many people (including the decision makers of this project) might like this style for “use”. However, BOTH can exists.
The (previous) UI was made with consumption and usability in mind.
It's fundamental structure, size, font, color, contrast, boundary, icons, features, double translation, multi translation placement, smartphone compatibility, segmented audio, footnotes, smothness; I could name on; are unexisting in current UI. The current UI was made for just good look (which I have no exlusive objection to).
I just request you to KEEP both version available as two different options of choice. As it was until few days ago.
Thank you.

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Z,
Jazakum Allahu khayran for sharing your thoughts so clearly.
We understand that your feedback is not only about one feature, but about the overall simplicity, readability, and usability of the previous Quran.com experience. We will share your detailed comments with the team, especially around reading comfort, layout, font, copying, translations, footnotes, and general distraction-free usage.
For the copying/font concern specifically, we recently added a feature that may help: Copy verse as glyphs using KFC V1 or V2.
To use it:
Open Quran.com
Go to the Surah you want
Open Settings
Choose King Fahad Complex V1 or V2
Enable Copy verse as glyphs
Press Done
Select the ayah and press Ctrl + C
Paste it where you need

Quran.com Feedback Team We alaikum salam.
The text now appears much bolder than before, which is not the style I am looking for. On previous.quran.com, I never had this problem, and the "King Fahad Complex v1" font was much more suitable for my needs.
For example, the verse from Surah At-Tur that I attached was copied from previous.quran.com and has the exact appearance I need. However, the verse from Surah An-Najm was copied from the current Quran.com and appears noticeably bolder. This difference makes it difficult for me to maintain consistency in my work and designs.

Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I can say the same thing. As a content creator, I've been using the previous Quran.com for over a year and relied on it heavily for copying verses and working with Quranic text efficiently. The new website looks great, but it doesn't provide the same workflow that many of us depended on.
Please consider bringing back the previous version or offering it as an alternative. It was an invaluable tool for creators who share and spread the words of Allah through videos and other content. In sha Allah, every person who benefits from these reminders contributes to the reward for everyone involved in making them possible.
